Their weight caused many medical problems, interfered with her breathing and forced her to take a variety of prescription drugs on a daily basis. She refused to travel by air in case the altitude caused them to explode, and while performing she ‘lived in constant fear that some madman would jump up on the stage and try to puncture them.’
